About the Work

Thy Will Be Done is a setting of The Lord's Prayer for SATB choir and organ, commissioned by Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church in Pennsylvania. It was premiered by the Bryn Mawr Sanctuary Choir in March of 2023, and is dedicated in loving memory to Al Willoughby, longtime Bass 2 in the choir.

Text

Our Father, Who art in heaven, 
Hallowed be Thy Name. 
Thy Kingdom come. 
Thy Will be done, 
on earth as it is in Heaven.

 

Give us this day our daily bread. 
And forgive us our trespasses, 
as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, 
but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

 

For thine is the kingdom,
the power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
